A third quarter 2023 survey of mobile gamers in the United States and Canada found that for about a quarter of respondents, a negative game update did not particularly impact their decision to abandon the game or not. Almost as many responding gamers stated that they would give it two to four weeks. However, about 38 percent of respondents would quit playing a game with a poorly received update within a week.
